We have received funding towards the purchase of some mature trees which are being planted along the boundary of Broadway West adjacent to the main road. Twelve planted so far with another 14 to be put in. Thanks again to the Ward Committee from Newcastle City Council for helping us.
We are hosting The Murder Trial Live at Broadway West over the next 7 nights.

GSA to host The Murder Trial Live
GSA are excited to be hosting the Murder Trial Live event at Broadway West from 28th January to 5th February. This unique event, supported by BBC Dragon’s Den, gives an insight into British legal system as it tours the UK. The tent will be raised alongside of the car park and the sold out performances will start at 7:30pm each evening until 10:00 pm. Members of GSA will be on site each night to control the car park.
The revenue earned from this event allows GSA to reinvest into Broadway West to improve our facilities.

GSA have been fortunate to receive funding towards some mature trees from Newcastle Ward Committee. Planting of 28 trees will take place along the boundary of Broadway West, in the next few weeks.
In order that our pitches can be used all year round, we have had drainage works carried out. This has been funded by Sport England and the RFU, and our thanks go out to them
Work has started on installing new cable for our training floodlights to be used during the winter
Our volunteers have worked hard to remove all the old fencing near to the clubhouse, which was broken and unsightly. We have now started to erect new wire fencing along this stretch which will improve the look of our site.
We held a very successful social event at our clubhouse this weekend, and the clubroom looked great. As well as a christening, we also had junior and senior cricket and even a bit of baseball practice. If you’re interested in using our facilities, either indoors or outside, please get in touch by email
Volunteers from all our sports clubs have been working hard over the last two weekends, to repair, tidy, litter-pick, paint and clear our ground and clubhouse at Broadway. One of the major jobs has been to clear and strim the area around the cricket nets, which will allow better use of this important facility.
Thanks to all volunteers who have helped us out. There’s still plenty to do but its a great start.
A new fence has now been erected around the car park, and additional wire fencing at the entrance.
The low ‘birds mouth’ fencing along the private lane will be repaired or replaced in the next couple of weeks
