About Us

Gosforth Sports Association (GSA) is a new organisation, formed in September 2014, to take on a long term lease (30 years) of the Broadway West Sports Ground, and Pavilion from Newcastle City.

It has been formed by Newcastle City Cricket Club (NCCC) and Gosforth Rugby Football Club (GRFC) to ensure that children, youths and adults from the surrounding communities have the opportunity to take part in amateur sport; initially cricket and rugby union. Both clubs provide amateur sport for children from the age of 7 through to adults until they eventually decide to hang up their pads or boots, or both. We have recently been joined by Tyne Tees Tigers Australian Rules Football Club. and hopefully we will be able to add more new sports to the Association in the future.

The Tigers were founded in April 2012 from the remnants of the North East England league, which formerly comprised of the Durham Saints, Gateshead Miners, Hartlepool. At present they run one senior team.

GSA is determined that the local community should benefit from the facility and the pavilion will be made available to community groups. The volunteers currently involved are working hard to deliver a sustainable sporting facility that will become a focus for the local community.
